Locomotive Roster
Trains
Rostered locomotives are subject to operational availibility. Many of our engines are over 50 years old, and as comes with age, sometimes things go wrong. We reserve the right to substitute advertised locomotives - including changing steam for diesel - with little or no notice, depending on operational requirements and locomotive status. If in doubt, please check our social media pages or call on the morning of your visit to confirm.

Buses
Route 339
On all operating days, we run a vintage bus service right from the end of London Underground's Central Line at Epping to North Weald. During our main season between April and October we also run buses from Shenfield National Rail station for connections from Elizabeth Line and Greater Anglia services. Our fleet usually consists of iconic double decker RT and RM designs. On some off-peak days, these may be replaced by or mixed with vintage single-decker RF buses.
During special events and the Summer months, we operate a variety of single and double decker buses, with an open top offering on some days with good weather.

During the peak summer months you can take a circular tour through the lovely Essex countryside on route 381 via Toot Hill and Coopersale. This also offers an alternative route to and from Epping station. It also calls at Greensted Green which is an approximate 1 mile walk from Greensted Church.
