We celebrate the 160th anniversary of the opening of our branchline today

It is also the Ongar Town Show - why not get there with the Epping Ongar Railway?

We expect steam locomotive, 4953 "Pitchford Hall" to be in action together with visiting class 50 diesel locomotive, 50021 "Rodney" alongside class 20 diesel locomotive, 20227 and visiting class 14 diesel locomotive, 9529, with an intensive service operating. 

Our vintage London bus services will also be operating providing connections to Epping Underground station (Central Line, zone 6) and Shenfield station.

These services are normally hauled by a steam locomotive
(B) - Passengers wishing to travel from North Weald to Ongar may join this service at 14.10 and travel via M11 bridge.
(W) - This train may make a short stop outside North Weald for the steam locomotive to take water

9529 - Service operated by visiting class 14 diesel locomotive 9529
20227 - Service operated by diesel locomotive 20227
50021 - Service operated by visiting class 50 diesel locomotive 50021 "Rodney" 

Passengers cannot board, or alight from, trains at the M11 bridge. 

Due to emergency engineering work, there will be no service beyond the M11 bridge to Epping Forest.  


IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: ONLY attempt to open the doors when the train is stationary and you have checked it is at a level part of the platform. DO NOT put your hands or body through open windows from inside the carriages when the train is in motion. Striking lineside structures or foliage can result in serious injury or worse.

The 16.35 bus service from North Weald to Epping will await the arrival of the train from Ongar due at 16.30
