We'll be back back later in 202131st January 2021
All Epping Ongar Railway services are currently suspended. The current Coronoavirus pandemic means we will be unable to operate our usual February half term services. The staff and volunteers in the Management team are keeping an eye on developements with a view to assessing what form of service we can run, and which of our popular events we can offer later in the year.
As soon as robust plans can be made then we will make a further announcement. Why not sign up to our newsletter, via the homepage, or like or follow us on social media to be among the first to hear when our plans are announced.
We look forward to welcoming you all on board for a journey through the Essex countryside on the longest heritage railway in Essex, and the closest to London.
Please note that during this period the Railway's stations are closed to the public. There is no public access and the appropriate security measures are in place. Train movements may also take place along the whole length of the line at any time.
As you will appreciate during the period of closure the Railway is unable to generate any income but still needs money to undertake basic maintenance to track, bridges, stations, locomotives and carriages and to allow our volunteers to continue the valuable work of restoration and preservation of our industrial heritage.
We must also ensure that the Railway is ready to operate safely and efficiently when we are finally able to reopen. We are also facing significant costs for repairs to Kiln Road bridge at North Weald which needs vital repair work before our services can restart. Our £200k appeal is still open; Please do consider whether you are able to assist us by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated by the volunteers.
