Up to 5 engines in steam for 10th anniversary gala!28th May 2022
The Epping Ongar Railway is delighted to announce that, subject to testing and availability of crews, diminutive Hudswell Clarke steam locomotive "Isabel" will be appearing at our 10th anniversary steam gala taking place over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend from 2 to 5 June.
Isabel will be in operation on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June only, and can be seen shunting the goods train and is planned to work the brake van rides from North Weald to Epping Forest, giving passengers a rare chance to ride behind the locomotive.
The locomotive joins the previously advertised line up of visiting British Railways standard class 4 locomotives 75069 and 80080, alongside Great Western locomotives, 4953 Pitchford Hall and small prairie 5521 in its London Transport livery and numbered L150, giving up to 5 engines in steam!
The gala event celebrates the 10th anniversary of heritage trains returning to the former London Underground branch line, which re-opened to passengers on 25 May 2012.
