Suspension of services due to Covid-1920th March 2020
UPDATED 18 April.
We have been monitoring the situation in relation to the impact of the Coronavirus and our ability to run commercial services safely and consistent with Government measures and guidance to reduce the amount of social contact and thereby reduce the spread of the virus. With this in mind, we have decided to suspend passenger services until further notice.
Our scheduled services and events are all cancelled during this period, as are our Driver Experience trains and Dining services.
Due to the lead times involved in organising events, our events in June are also postponed or cancelled. We are looking to reschedule our steam gala, planned for 5, 6 and 7 June to later in the year.
Please note that our stations are closed. There is no public access and the appropriate security measures are in place.
We have not taken this decision lightly, but the health, safety and well being of all our staff, our hundreds of volunteers and you, our passengers, is our priority. In these very uncertain times for all, please look after yourself, your family and friends and stay safe. We look forward to welcoming you all back when our heritage steam and diesel trains, and buses, are once again providing delight on the longest heritage railway in Essex and the closest to London.
