Services resume from 22 May30th March 2021

The Epping Ongar Railway is delighted to announce that its heritage services will re-commence on 22 May, subject to the Government's road map remaining unchanged. Due to continuing essential engineering work our initial service will be formed of a heritage diesel multiple unit operating between North Weald and Ongar and return only. We expect a steam service to be operated from early summer.

A great value family day out

The Epping Ongar Railway is the longest heritage railway in Essex, and the closest to London, running on part of the former London Underground Central Line, and is ideally placed for a family day out to the historic market town of Ongar, or a short walk in the pleasant Essex countryside - the Essex Way long distance footpath passes close by!

Our heritage buses will not be operating during this first phase of re-opening but parking will be available at North Weald station, which has easy access from Northeast London, and the M11 and M25 motorways.
