The Epping Ongar Railway is currently closed for winter maintenance. Following a successful period of Santa Special and Epping Ongar Light Fantastic services, the coming weeks will see our volunteers undertaking essential maintenance to our stations, track and rolling stock. The Railway will reopen later in 2022. Our exciting programme of events and services for this year is currently being finalised and will be announced very shortly.

We look forward to welcoming you all back on board for a journey through the Essex countryside on the longest heritage railway in Essex, and the closest to London.

Please note that during this period the Railway's stations are closed to the public. There is no public access and the appropriate security measures are in place. Train movements may also take place along the whole length of the line at any time. 

Have you considered volunteering with us? Volunteering can offer a very rewarding experience, helping maintain and operate our railway. No prior railway experience is necessary - indeed many of our volunteers started with no prior experience, but have brought skills in a wide range or areas from carriage and building restoration and maintenance to maintaining our grounds and flower beds.
