Real Ale Train22 June
Following the success of our Real Ale Trains last year, we're running them again this year!
The Real Ale trains today are planned to be steam hauled!
Running as part of our 1940s Steam Weekend, the train fare is just £12 for travel after 5pm, with a small discount if booked more than two weeks in advance (£6 for holders of our residents railcard). Alternatively if you wish to enjoy the full day with us, then our All Day Rover ticket includes travel on the Real Ale Train.
We plan to have a selection of local real ales and 2 ciders available, bottled ales together with bar snacks, onboard the train in the Flag and Whistle Bar. You can also purchase your own souvenir glasses from the bar. The Flag and Whistle will also now accept contactless payments.
Leave the car at home!
There will be buses from Epping (a single return journey is included in the price of your ticket) and a final bus to connect with the last train arriving at North Weald will also be provided. Please see times below.
Real Ale and Cider
The real ale and cider we expect to be available will be updated here when confirmed closer to the event.
We expect to offer a hot food option of fish and chips with a bread roll for an addtional charge of £8.50. This will be served on the train at your seat during the evening. This option must be pre-ordered. This can be done online, below. Alternatively, bar snacks will be available throughout the evening.
The timetable for the trains is not yet available and will be confirmed closer to the event.
As well as our regular 339 bus service, additional bus services will operate to and from Epping Underground station to connect with the trains.
