Diesel Running Day with 3702923 October

37029 has just turned 60 years old. Join us for up to 60 miles of haulage from the locomotive as we celebrate in style!

 Class 37 - 37029

Class 37 diesel locomotive, D6729, later 37029, entered service on 3 October 1961, so the locomotive has just turned 60! The locomotive's initial allocation was to Stratford depot where it was used on services from London Liverpool to Norwich, so it is truly a local locomotive! To celebrate in style you can enjoy up to 60 miles of haulage behind the lcoomotive along the full length of our line.

The locomotive will be working our diesel services during the day, with additional trains into the evening. 37029 will work all services to Ongar on its own, but Class 31 locomotive, 31438, will be provided to top and tail the services between North Weald and Epping Forest. 31438 will not provide power when on the rear of the train.

Steam hauled services will also be operating.

Whilst our usual heritage bus services will be operating to connect with Epping Underground and Shenfield stations during the day, we regret that we are unable to provide any additoinal bus services in the evening. Limited parking will be available at North Weald station.
