Class 47 Running Day with 4763517 October 2020
IMPORTANT UPDATE 16 OCTOBER:
Due a fault discovered whilst 47635 was being prepared for service this Saturday it will, unfortunately, no longer be working on this date. 31438 has also been failed today. Instead a special service will operate between North Weald and Ongar only, operated by 37029.
Please use this link if, as a result of the above, you wish to contact us.
Join us for a running day with class 47 locomotive, 47635 "Jimmy Milne", as it tackles some of the steepest gradients in preservation!

Five round trips will be operated - the timetable can be found below - offering over 50 miles of haulage!
47635 will work all trains between North Weald and Ongar and return. Another locomotive from our fleet will assist top and tail between North Weald and Epping Forest; it is planned that 47635 will lead two trains into, and three trains out of, Epping Forest. The loco on the rear of the train will not power.
Getting to us
Parking will be available at North Weald station. Follow this link for details of how to find us.
Note: Our inclusive bus service from Epping will not be running for this event. A regular public bus service operates from Epping Station to the bottom of the station approach road at North Weald (ask for the stop at the Kings Head pub). Details can be obtained from Traveline.
Seating
You can book a compartment for use by your group of up to six people, or book seats for one or two people in our open coaches.
It is planned that the compartment coaches will be on the outer ends of the five coach train.
The Penny Salon Gallery
The Penny Salon Gallery, normally based at Ongar station has gone on tour! It will be based in North Weald and will be showing an album of class 47 photos. Come and see the variety of liveries carried by the class and the range of duties they performed during their nearly 60 years career on Britain’s railways.
