Featuring the first ever visit of a Warship locomotive to the line, this is the second of our ever popular Diesel Galas for 2019, where the loco, alongside the home fleet, and, additional visitor, 33201, comes out to be put through its paces over some of the most challenging gradients in preservation.
Due to a fault discovered during testing, 45132 will not be working at this event. The locomotive will, however, be on display with the possibility of cab visits.
As usual we will be running a 3 train intensive service throughout the weekend with late running Real Ale trains on Saturday. All trains will be running in conjunction with our fleet of Heritage buses, which will be operating between Ongar, North Weald, Epping Underground and Shenfield National Rail stations.
Our on train bars will be also be open, serving a selection of draught beers, as well as a range of wines, lagers and soft drinks, and, on the Saturday evening, we will be running our Real Ale Train.
Cab rides for £5
For those who would like to see the line from the unique vantage point of a loco cab, then we will be offering our popular cab rides for £5. These can't be pre-booked, just see the crew of the locomotive to reserve your place. For safety reasons the number of people in the cab will be limited and may vary between locomotives.
Brake Van Rides with 20001
Brake van rides will operate between North Weald and Epping Forest with 20001. An additional charge of £5 per return trip will be payable. Simply pay the guard on your trip of choice.
Drive a 20 for £20
For just £20, you will have a chance to get behind the power handle of class 20 locomotive, 20001! There will be a limited number of trips within station limits at North Weald lasting approximately 20 minutes. these can't be pre-booked before the event, but will be available on a first come first served basis on the day - these usually prove very popular so speak to the crew early on to reserve your place. Maximum two partipants per trip; participants must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs nd participation is solely at the discretion of the crew.

Tickets are valid for travel all day on our trains and connecting buses, including the evening real ale trains.
Additional fares apply for "Drive a 20 for £20"; "Cab Rides for £5" and "Brake Van rides". None of these can be pre-booked, simply speak to the crew on the day to book your place!
Our stations will only be accessible to passengers holding a ticket valid on the train services.
We will be serving a selection of real ales and ciders in the Flag and Whistle on-board bar, all day.
Real Ale Train - Saturday Evening
We will be running trains into the evening on the Saturday. All Diesel Gala All Day Rover Tickets are valid on the Real Ale Train, the supplement of £12 is only if you are not in posession of a Gala All Day ticket.
