70 years of the iconic RF and Friends Running Day5 September 2021

RF buses

The event based at the Railway's North Weald Station will feature routes and tours operating to local towns and villages, commemorating 70 years of the iconic RF class AEC Regal IV, visiting vehicles and a surprise or two!

You can pick up a free programme on the day.

Vehicles not operating a service will be on display at North Weald station. 

 

Routes

Regularly timed routes will operate throughout the day to Waltham Abbey, Passingford Bridge, High Beach and Blackmore.

A special photographic Road run later in the day, details of which will be announced on the day.

Feeder route 718 will operate from Chingford station, departing at 09:35 at no additional cost, and route 339 will operate between Epping Station and North Weald at regular intervals, with an additional bus service from Epping station at 9:30.

You can now download the timetable for the additional routes. A copy of the timetable will be included in the free programme, available on the day, together with bus allocations.

You can also download the timetable for the 339 service from and to Epping station. An additional service will operate at 09:30 from Epping station.

Our heritage steam and diesel train services will also be operating between North Weald, Ongar and Epping Forest. You can find train times and buy tickets here.

 

Buy tickets

For combined train and bus tickets click or tap the link below and select 5 September from the calendar. These allow travel on all train and heritage bus services, including the additional bus services operating on the day. We recommend you purchase these in advance.

Bus only tickets will be available on the day from the conductor. These will allow entry to the site and travel on all the buses, including route 339. These tickets will not be valid on the train service.
