Family Railcard

1/3rd off Family Tickets

We know that families love great days out, and we're now giving you an extra reason to have a great day out at the Epping Ongar Railway. Put simply, our new Family Railcard will give the holder at least 1/3rd off the price of our range of All Day Rover Tickets. It means that you can save money on a day out with the kids when you fancy a trip on a vintage bus and a steam train or on a wide range of our special events including our character appearance days. The £12 Family Railcard means that the family can enjoy a day out on the buses and trains for just £30 (standard price £45). You will save money from day one and the more you use the card the more savings you make.

The Epping Ongar Railway Family Railcard is available for purchase throughout the UK. The Railcard is valid for a full year meaning that the savings just keep on coming. The cards are sold online and will be delivered to your door within a week.

Residents Railcard

Our Residents Railcard offers half price tickets to people who live in Epping, North Weald and Ongar (defined as people living in CM5 & CM16 postcodes) for a year.  The discount is offered to the card holder and upto three other people travelling with that person. The cardholder must be an adult and purchase an adult ticket.

Validity

Your railcard is valid on all standard operating days and event days. It is not valid on our Halloween Fright Week services, the Epping Ongar Light Fantastic and Santa Specials, experience days or any of our dining options. The card is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and it is not transferable.

How to Buy Your Railcard

Simply select the type of card you want to purchase from the menu below. You will receive an electronic version almost immediately that you can use straightaway - with a credit-card sized card sent to you in the post within about a week.When you buy your tickets your card will be scanned to record that you have used it and to check it is still valid - you will then be issued with your tickets. You can use the paper ticket until your card arrives in the post.

How to Use Your Railcard

Present the card at either of Ongar or North Weald stations where it will be scanned to confirm it is valid when you buy your tickets. You can't use the card to buy tickets on the bus or tickets online. If you are booking for one of our Character Days (Peppa Pig, PAW Patrol, Hey Duggee, Bluey and JJ) where demand is very high indeed then you will need to call us on 01277 365200 to book in advance. You may be asked to provide some identification alongside the card to prove that it is your card.
